Assigning a user to a group
Figure: Assigning a user to a group
  • Here, through this screen users can be assigned to various groups that are already existing, by creating a new record and selecting the groups from the field ‘Group’ for the particular user. As shown in the above figure, the newly created user ‘guest’ has been assigned to various groups like xc-cust , xe-mzdev, xe-pz and which are the groups existing in Javra IDE.
Note: To assign a user to your own user group, you have to create a new User Group record first by going to program under X/E-Files > Users > Usergroups. Refer to Next section for details.

  • Now, whenever access is provided for any particular program to any of the groups to which the user is added, then automatically the user within the group also gets the accessibility to that program.

  • Users can also be created using the copy icon. While creating a user using the copy button, after entering all the details while committing a pop up window is displayed as shown in the figure below.

Here existing user ‘guest‘ record is copied to create a new user ‘guest2‘.

  • If you select No on above popup, no user group will be assigned to copied user (“guest2″ here) and you will have to assign user group to this user manually.
  • If you select Yes, the user group assigned to user being copied (“guest”) will be automatically assigned to this new copied user (“guest2″) which you can see by going to User Group tab as shown below. Later the users can explicitly remove or add the groups via the UserGroup.
